Blackwell Boyce was born 1963 in London, Canada, and spent a portion of his childhood in rural Africa and Ireland. After graduating from Queen's University (Ontario) with a degree in geology, Boyce embarked upon a career in mineral exploration. His work, curiosity, and love of wilderness have taken him to many remote parts of the world- including Arkhangelsk, where he based himself for almost a decade. Boyce's poetry has been published on a number of Canadian literary journals. He currently teaches English to IT professionals in Lviv, Ukraine.
